Our goal is to take the confusion out of the process. We’ll work with you to determine your wants and needs, sort through samples in our Brandon showroom, and when you make your decision, we’ll work with you to make sure it’s installed properly. Mark Jenkins
I started working in my father's flooring store cleaning shelves and sweeping floors in 1982 at the age of 12. I worked in all parts of his business until his retirement 20 years ago; mainly flooring installs but also sales for a number of years. In that time, I was also a certified floor covering inspector. I was trained in the United States and hired by manufacturers, retailers and consumers to inspect flooring issues and determine the cause and remedies to flooring problems and failures. After my father's retirement, I was mainly focused on installs. I met Bobby-Jo in May of 2010 when she was working at a local flooring store as a salesperson and we've been together since January of 2017.
We want to provide a simple, convenient experience and we want our customers to absolutely trust that they're dealing with good, honest people that provide a more personal & personalized service. Bobby-Jo and I can’t wait to work with you to get the perfect flooring in your home or business.
Bobby-Jo Danielson
My name is Bobby-Jo — Mark’s better half! My experience in the flooring world began in May of 2010. I had worked in retail for 14 years up to that point, when I was offered the opportunity to sell flooring at a local flooring store. This is where I met Mark. In 2019, Mark knew he couldn’t install due to back issues, so we decided we’d start our own flooring company.
We wanted to provide an experience for our clients and we wanted to have our own sales team as well as our own installers. Having a happy team was very important to us, we wanted everyone to enjoy coming to work.
When Mark and I aren’t working, we enjoy a lot of camping in the summer, traveling, walking/hiking and spending time with our families.
Kevin Ruddick
With 19 years of experience in the flooring industry, Kevin is the perfect person to talk to about your next flooring project.
"It's most satisfying when you can help a customer make the right choice for their needs. I don't just want to sell them something for the sake of selling them something, I want to make sure they get it right and I think that's why a lot of the people I have been fortunate to deal with are repeat customers," Ruddick said.
On a more personal level, Kevin, who is originally from Shoal Lake, loves spending time with family. He's also a self-professed foodie and enjoys sitting on his deck enjoying the Manitoba summer heat and doing the same in Mexico and St Maarten during the winter.
Travis Vanderhaeghe
Travis is a red seal carpenter by trade, with over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. As Red Kayak’s Install Manager, Travis ensures our team of in-house installers are meeting the high standards we set for ourselves.
“I like to think the little things are the big things because if you treat them that way you know that the customer is going to be happy with their install and will be able to enjoy it for decades to come,” Vanderhaeghe said.
Originally from Esterhazy, Travis moved to Brandon in 2008. He married his beautiful wife, Kendra, in 2019. When he’s not measuring jobs or ensuring our clients are getting the best service possible, Travis enjoys camping, traveling, hiking and hanging out with his dogs.
Amy McDonald
With a family in the construction industry, Amy has been around new and old builds her entire life. Originally from Alberta, Amy has found a home in Brandon.
“The process is easy if you pay attention to what the client wants and need in their home or project,” McDonald said. “It’s my job to turn that vision into a reality and guide the process so that everyone that I work with is happy at the end of the day.
When she’s not working, Amy loves spending time with her friends and family. She loves to decorate her home for every holiday and enjoys preparing a delicious meal for special occasions.
